Lovely story of Redemption
I was so shocked the book ended. The people of Eden Cove have such caring hearts, you just never want the books to end. The main focus is about healing and forgiveness after a traumatic event. And seeing a person how God sees them..

A Powerful. Uplifting Read!!!
Allyson Koekhoven is a new to me Author who has written the 9th book in the Our House on Sycamore Street series, The Runaway’s Redemption. The Runaway’s Redemption tells the story of Johlene, a woman from South Africa who comes to Eden Cove in the United Kingdom at the bequest of her friend Sophie. Johlene agrees to help Sophie by settling Sophie’s Aunt Trudy’s Eden Cove Estate. In turn Sophie thanks Johlene by covering all of her expenses in hopes that the change of scenery will help Johlene in her recovery from a traumatic event from her job as a paramedic. While in Eden Cove, Johlene meets it’s lovely people who welcome and embrace Johlene scars and all, showing Johlene the Love and Truth of Jesus. Johlene slowly and begrudgingly, becomes drawn to them and accepts the people of Eden Cove as well—especially a dog named Trev and a sweet young boy named Daniel. Johlene soon realizes the gift God has given her through Eden Cove and His Redemptive Love.
Allyson Koekhoven’s The Runaway’s Redemption is a beautiful story with an equally powerful Message. The way Ms. Koekhoven depicts Johlene’s struggles and journey is not revealed at the get-go, but layer by layer as the story progresses. I thought the way Johlene’s panics and fears and the way she grapples with them were raw and realistic. I appreciated Johlene’s thought process of dealing her trauma and rationalizing what happened to her, while grappling with trying to forgive her perpetrator and reconciling with what actually happened to her in the process. I love how caring the people of Eden’s Cove were towards Johlene. I love how much Scripture and Truth are sprinkled at the right moments for Johlene throughout the story. The Scripture and Truth in The Runaway’s Redemption Ministered to me as well. I love how The Runaway’s Redemption focused solely on Johlene and her journey, pointing her back to God. I believe The Runaway’s Redemption gave Johlene’s Journey closure for the confines of the story, but showing the reader at the same time that Johlene’s Journey is ongoing and that Johlene has a future through Christ. If you are looking for a powerful, uplifting read, soaked with God’s Truth then I highly recommend The Runaway’s Redemption by Allyson Koekhoven!

Pain and forgiveness
I loved the word craftmanship that had me caught up in the pain of abuse, the angst of recovery and shame, and the naivete of a young boy. A thought provoking read.

Interviews with the author
It’s always humbling to share some of the creative process with both readers and other authors. I was privileged to be interviewed by two of my fellow authors in the Our House on Sycamore Street series.
